    Energy Healing & Reiki Support

Where Mind, Body, and Spirit Meet in Safety

Why I Offer Energy Healing As a licensed counselor?

I believe healing is not one-size-fits-all. While therapy can help us understand patterns, heal trauma, and create change through insight and relationship, some parts of us heal nonverbally—in the quiet language of the body, the breath, and the soul.

That’s why I also offer energy healing, including Reiki, sound vibration, and intuitive support, for clients who are curious or feel called toward a more holistic path.

The Positives of Working with a Counselor-Healer:

    • You’ll be held by someone trained in trauma, boundaries, and emotional regulation.

    • Your nervous system, history, and emotional safety are always at the center.

    • I understand how energetic shifts can surface old patterns, and how to support you through them.

    • You won’t be asked to believe in anything—just to be present with yourself.

    And the Boundaries I Honor:

    • Reiki is not therapy and is not a replacement for it.

    • Reiki sessions are never diagnostic or clinical.

    • I’ll always clearly separate energy work from counseling, and we’ll check in together about your comfort and consent.

What to Expect in a Session

    • Each session is guided by your needs, your comfort, and your boundaries.

    • You remain fully clothed and can lie down or sit—whatever feels best.

    • Reiki is hands-on or hands-hovering, and you choose what feels safe for you.

    • In addition to Reiki, you may also experience:

      • Tuning forks for vibrational alignment and relaxation.

      • Vocal vibration or humming to calm the vagus nerve and reset your system.

      • Light language, a gentle, intuitive sound expression that supports healing.

      • Channeled or intuitive messages, only if welcomed (not guaranteed).

Nothing is ever done without your clear consent, and I’ll explain everything beforehand so there are no surprises.

    My Training & Lineage

I am certified in Holy Fire Reiki I and II through Justina Sharp, a deeply intuitive and heart-centered teacher whose lineage is rooted in the traditional Usui system: Mikao Usui → Chujiro Hayashi → Hawayo Takata → John Harvey Gray → Justina Sharp.

This lineage honors both the sacredness of the practice and the flexibility to adapt it to each person’s unique healing path.

Your Safety & Comfort Come First

I know how important it is to feel safe—especially if you carry trauma, anxiety, or a sensitive nervous system. You’ll never be asked to do anything that doesn’t feel right to you. If at any time you want to stop, change something, or just sit in silence, that is always welcomed and honored.

Your body knows the pace it needs. My role is to listen, hold space, and follow your lead.

What Are the Risks of Reiki?

Reiki is generally considered a gentle and safe practice for most people. However, as with any healing process, there are a few things to be aware of:

🔸 Emotional Release: Some people experience unexpected emotions (tears, anger, grief, laughter) during or after a session. This is usually a sign that stuck or stored energy is being released, but it can feel intense. I hold space gently for anything that arises and will always check in with you before, during, and after.

🔸 Temporary Discomfort: In rare cases, people feel tired, foggy, or even mildly agitated for a day or two after Reiki. This is often called a “healing response” and usually passes quickly. It’s your body adjusting, rebalancing, or processing energy shifts.

🔸 Physical Sensations: You may feel warmth, tingling, coldness, heaviness, or movement in your body. These are usually subtle and pleasant, but if anything ever feels uncomfortable, just let me know—your comfort is the priority.

🔸 Not a Substitute for Medical or Mental Health Treatment: Reiki is complementary, not a replacement. It’s not diagnostic, prescriptive, or a cure for medical or psychological conditions. If you're dealing with a serious illness or mental health crisis, Reiki may help support your well-being, but it should be used alongside—not instead of—professional care.

What to Expect After a Reiki Session

Every person experiences Reiki differently, and no two sessions are alike. Here are some common post-session responses:

    You Might Feel:

    • Calm, grounded, and centered

    • Lighter, more open emotionally

    • Sleepy or deeply relaxed

    • Inspired, emotional, or creatively activated

    • Like “something shifted” but you can’t quite explain what

    Helpful Aftercare Tips:

    • Drink extra water to help your body process energy movement

    • Rest or nap if you feel tired

    • Journal or reflect on anything that came up emotionally

    • Take a bath, be in nature, or do something nurturing if you feel sensitive

    • Avoid overstimulation if possible—your system may want quiet time to integrate

If anything feels concerning after a session:

Please reach out. I am always happy to check in, clarify, or offer grounding support. Your well-being matters to me.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I do Reiki if I’m already in therapy with you?

Yes. If you're already a counseling client and interested in receiving Reiki, we can discuss how to integrate it into your healing plan. Reiki is always optional and offered only when it aligns with your goals and comfort. It's never a substitute for therapy, but it can complement the work we do together—especially when emotional processing is somatically stored in the body.

Q: Is Reiki spiritual or religious?

Reiki is not tied to any religion or belief system. It is a gentle energy-based practice that supports relaxation and balance. Some people experience it as calming and grounding; others may feel a spiritual connection—but there is no right or wrong way to experience it. I offer Reiki in a way that is respectful, trauma-informed, and accessible to people of all backgrounds and beliefs.

Q: Is there any science behind Reiki?
While Reiki is not fully understood by Western science, some research supports its benefits—particularly in reducing stress, anxiety, and pain. Reiki appears to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is the “rest and digest” state that allows the body to relax, repair, and restore balance.

Studies have shown that Reiki can:

    • Lower heart rate and blood pressure

    • Reduce cortisol (stress hormone) levels

    • Improve quality of sleep

    • Enhance feelings of peace, connection, and well-being

    • Help reduce pain perception in hospital and hospice settings

These outcomes may be related to Reiki’s ability to calm the nervous system and regulate subtle energy fields, though the exact mechanisms remain difficult to measure with conventional tools.

Many hospitals, cancer centers, and integrative clinics now include Reiki as part of patient care—not as a replacement for medicine, but as a supportive tool for comfort, recovery, and emotional resilience.

Q: What if I don’t believe in energy healing?

You don’t have to “believe” in Reiki for it to help. Think of it like meditation or massage—it works with your body’s nervous system and energy field, regardless of your beliefs. That said, you are always empowered to choose what’s right for you. There is no pressure or expectation to participate.

Q: Do I have to talk during Reiki?

Not at all. Reiki is a quiet, restful experience. Some people prefer to share how they’re feeling before or after, while others use the time in silence. It’s your space, and I’ll follow your lead.

Q: Can Reiki heal physical illness or ailments?
Reiki is not a medical treatment or cure. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or replace medical care. However, it can support the body’s natural healing processes by reducing stress, calming the nervous system, improving rest, and restoring energetic balance.

Many people find that Reiki helps with:

    • Chronic tension or pain

    • Headaches

    • Sleep issues

    • Fatigue or burnout

    • Emotional strain related to illness

It’s important to see Reiki as a complementary support, not a replacement for medical or therapeutic treatment. If you are managing a physical condition, Reiki may help you feel more at ease in your body—but it should always be part of a well-rounded care plan.
